Upcoming events at UUCSB & beyond
Share the Plate! May 2026
Each month, UUCSB chooses an organization to split weekly donations made by congregants during the course of Sunday services. As many of you attend virtually, we are providing an online venue for these donations.
This month, we ask for donations to be split between UUCSB's general fund and The Minister's Discretionary Fund which allows Rev. Lori to minister to people in our community, primarily within the UUCSB congregation, who find themselves in financial need.

Congregational Forum #2: Mission and Communication
Mission Statement
An effective mission statement is used to guide decision making and communicate who we are. Mission statements can and should evolve over time, and updating ours has been on the agenda for years. We have collected input for the last 1-1/2 years. A team of Board Members examined the input and formed a team which prepared this statement:
We are a welcoming spiritual home.
We serve our community and our world with Love
and act boldly for Justice and Peace.
We discussed it in a forum a few weeks ago gathered feedback. You are invited to continue to reflect on this statement. Our aim is to vote on a version that is "Safe enough to try and good enough for now," knowing we can continue the process as we try it out in the coming months
Our hope is to move forward with this statement after a vote at June's Annual Meeting. We would use it to move us into what comes next, like next year’s bicentennial celebration! This will be posted on a bulletin board, in the Messenger and in the bulletins for you to review. To share your thoughts about it, please send an email to rantho2000@gmail.com. We can also discuss it at the forum on Sunday.
All are welcome!
