Upcoming events at UUCSB & beyond
Share the Plate! September & October 2026
Each month, UUCSB chooses an organization to split weekly donations made by congregants during the course of Sunday services. As many of you attend virtually, we are providing an online venue for these donations.
September and October 2026 we will be sharing our plate with Seeds of Hope, one of the only remaining centers to provide shelter for our unhoused citizens.
When the County shelters closed in Alfred, York County was left in a difficult situation. Seeds has stepped in and stepped up to take over these spaces and run them with little to no federal funding. They recently assumed full operation of the Family Center, the only shelter in york County dedicated to families with children and recently gotten involved with the Maine Way.
We support them every year with between $500-$800 in a share the plate.
This year their board has asked us to offer a leadership donation to the efforts to create viable shelter options for families and warming options for others. The ask to us is for $2,000-$4,000. Our stretch goal is between $1500-$2,000 for September - October.
Help us support an organization that is responsibly, thoughtfully and lovingly supporting our most vulnerable citizens right now!

Jeannine Wilson Kindness Garden Dedication
September 20 will be the dedication of the Jeannine Wilson memorial kindness garden! We will wrap up church at 10:50 () and go out to the area where the garden is being constructed.

Every Eli Lev concert is more than a set list. It is a shared experience of positivity and community where sing-alongs, heartfelt storytelling, and spontaneous audience interactions transform listeners into active collaborators. Whether he is inviting the crowd to add harmonies, share personal reflections, or join in call-and-response refrains, Eli builds a space where everyone feels seen, heard, and uplifted.

School Street Coffeehouse Presents Great Aunt
Great Aunt is a genre-bending folk duo from Australia, known for their soaring harmonies, dynamic instrumentation, and heart-felt live performances. Winners of the 2024 Folk Alliance Australia Duo of the Year, Great Aunt—comprising Megan Bird (mandolin, resonator, acoustic guitar, vocals) and Chelsea Allen (double bass, vocals, percussion)—craft music that is rooted in folk, bluegrass, and roots traditions, yet refreshingly shaped by their diverse backgrounds in punk, jazz, soul, and rock.

This intergenerational service will be co-led by Rev. Lori and Rev. Niki with the assistance of our youth and youth leadership. Bring a small container of water with you to add to our shared container.

Women's Songwriting Circle
Women Songwriter’s Circle is a welcoming and empowering space for women to explore creativity, share their voices through song, and connect in a supportive and nurturing community—regardless of musical experience.
Bring your unfinished songs, works in progress, or new ideas to share and receive thoughtful encouragement and feedback.
Circles will be held on the 4th Tuesday of each month.
